A central theme in Jedda’s work is the Dreaming story of “Kame” (the pencil yam), a significant Dreamtime story handed down through her father's side of the family. The yam is a vital food source and medicinal plant in the Utopia region, and women celebrate it through ceremonies that ensure its perpetual germination. Jedda’s paintings can also depict the root system of the yam, using vibrant colours and intricate patterns to convey its cultural and spiritual significance.
Please note that the paintings' colours vary in different lighting and the pictures displayed are photos of the painting (i.e. pictures taken inside vs. outside in the sun).
All artworks are in unstretched, unframed format and will be dispatched rolled. If you require the piece to be delivered stretched, we are pleased to accommodate this upon request. Additional charges apply, inclusive of expert stretching and the increased freight cost for stretched canvases. For a tailored quote, kindly email our team.
