Rayleen Price
Rayleen Pula Price was born in Utopia, a remote community in Central Desert Australia, approximately 350km north east of Alice Springs. She is related to the internationally renowned Anna Price Pitjara, who’s detailed depiction of her Country is passed through her family, of which includes Naomi Price and Freda Price.
In addition to her Country, Rayleen vibrantly illustrates colourful depictions of her Dreaming ‘bush leaves’ and ‘bush seeds’, which are fundamental to the staple foods and medicine utilised by Utopian women. Rayleen’s intricate depictions are a true testament to the sacred female Dreaming held in this area of Central Desert Australia.
