Her traditional country is Irrwelty and Atnwengerrp and her mother and uncle, both famous artists, are Dolly Mills Petyarre and Greeny Purvis Petyarre.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eIn her childhood, Jeannie was exposed to the success that Indigenous artists experienced as they experimented with acrylic on canvas. She inherited the Anaty (Desert Yam Bush Potato) technique that led to the development of her painting style.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eJeannie has developed her own unique style while still representing the bush yam from her country. The yam's remarkable root structure is represented by the linear work in Jeannie's artworks, while the seeds are represented by the dots. The Anaty have an ancient Dreamtime myth that artists are taught as they get older.
